Our band, Looney's Fortune, derives its name from a pub, Looney's Tavern,
in Torrance, CA, where we all met in the 1980's. The sessions there were
every Wednesday night and would run into the wee hours of the morning. Tons
and tons of tunes were learned there, friendships made, bands launched,
loads of laughs and great times. We chose our name to honor the memory of
that.
Looney's Fortune will be performing and teaching at the following festivals

The Short & Curly ShowRenaissance Arts Themed Comedy and MusicGather a merry throng and cast your Lords and Ladies back to Renaissance Times. Be seated at your own round table and enjoy a feast of Renaissance Art Entertainments presented by the Master of Tights, "The Lord Rusty", and the Mistress of Strings, "Patti of Amelot". Be amazed by comic juggling, silly magic, dangerous diabolo, and much more. A skilled minstrel provides accompaniment on the favored medieval instrument, the Hammered Dulcimer, whilst exchanging banter with His Lordship of Rust. An unforgettable, unique, and original comedic-themed experience is presented with a theatrical flare and a contemporary edge. This duo pays homage to the traditions of the entertainers from centuries past. "Lord Rusty" is the comic creation of Christopher Yates. Drama and Circus School trained, Christopher has performed on four continents in three different languages; his performance genres range from theater to film, corporate to carnival. Originally from New Zealand, Christopher is now residing in SoCal. "Patti of Amelot" is portrayed by Patti Amelotte, the 1990 California State Hammered Dulcimer Champion. A graduate from Chapman University with a BA in Piano Performance, Patti has maintained her status as a full-time musician with performances at Disneyland, at The Magic Castle, with the San Diego Symphony, with the LA Children's Chorus, and various music festivals.
